Dyne inks in bottles are used as a quick and easy method for measuring surface energy of a material by observing how the ink changes over the surface. If the pens ink beads up like water on a waxed car bonnet, this is a fail. If the ink stays as a solid line, this is a pass.
Dyne Inks in bottles are best used for measuring surface energy of materials that might be contaminated or oily. The single use swabs ensure that the inks aren’t ruined by contamination. Smaller and easier to use Dyne Pens are also available for clean surfaces.
